About Cryotek

Cryotek is the distributor of Cryonic Medical in the United Kingdom, and in Australia and New Zealand. Cryonic Medical manufactures a patented device that uses medical liquid CO₂ for a drug-free and non-invasive treatment of pain, inflammation and musculo-skeletal trauma.

Cryonic Medical researched and developed the NeuroCryoStimulation (NCS) technique, which is an advanced scientific method of cryotherapy. The treatment is effective for both humans and animals and is suitable for both acute and chronic conditions.

The product was launched in Europe, in 1995. Orthopedic and cosmetic surgeons, physiotherapists, especially those specialising in sports medicine and rehabilitation have adopted the NCS technique. They have reported excellent results compared to conventional methods of cryotherapy.

A number of organizations and clubs, in various sport disciplines, as well as a number of national Olympic teams have acquired the Cryonic device and adopted the NeuroCryoStimulation technique. See references for a list of users of this product.

In the animal health sector, general and equine vets, and horse trainers have also reported very good results with the technique.

The device was invented and patented by Cryonic Medical, a French company specialising in the research and development of products that use cold under high pressure for medical applications. ANVAR, a French government agency, sponsored the R&D into the device because of its innovative nature. The device has opened new exciting possibilities for the use of cold in human and animal medicine.

Cryotek UK is a trading entity of Forwin Ltd, which was formed in October 2003. Forwin Ltd was established in the UK as an importer and distributor of products from Australia. In March 2005 the directors of Forwin decided to source an innovative product from Europe to distribute in the UK and export to Australia and New Zealand. This led to the company securing exclusive distribution rights from Cryonic Medical.

Cryotek Pty Ltd was incorporated in Sydney, Australia in May 2005 to distribute Cryonic Medical products in Australia and New Zealand.
